Why Use This Calculator?
Running math is surprisingly difficult because time is calculated in base-60 (seconds and minutes) rather than base-10. This tool is designed to eliminate the mental gymnastics required to calculate splits and total times- a constant battle in spreadsheets!
Common Use Cases:
- Team Analysis: Calculate the aggregate time for your top 5 or 7 runners in a Cross Country meet to compare team performance across different events.
- Split Verification: Determine exact splits for specific segments of a race. For example, enter your Total 5K Time, then subtract your Last Mile Time to see exactly how fast you hit the 2-mile mark.
- Workout Planning: Add up cumulative time for complex interval sessions or relay teams.
